Common questions about Yes/No Decision

General Questions

What is Yes/No Decision?

Yes/No Decision is a free, gamified decision-making web app that helps you make choices through coin flips, picker wheels, and rapid-fire decisions. Track your patterns, earn achievements, unlock titles, and analyze your decision-making journey. All data is stored locally in your browser for complete privacy.

Is Yes/No Decision really random?

Yes! The app uses JavaScript's Math.random() function which provides true 50/50 randomness. Every decision has an exactly equal chance of being YES or NO.

We don't manipulate results based on your history, preferences, or any other factors. It's completely fair.

Do I need to create an account?

No! Yes/No Decision works without any account or login. Just open the app and start making decisions. All your data is stored locally in your browser.

Is it free?

Yes, completely free! No hidden costs, no subscriptions, no premium tiers. All features are available to everyone at no charge.

Privacy & Data

  • Decision history and timestamps
  • XP, level, and stardust points
  • Unlocked achievements and titles
  • Equipped title
  • Daily streak data
  • Question sets for Gut Check mode

What happens if I clear my browser data?

Clearing your browser storage will permanently delete all your Yes/No Decision data, including decisions, XP, achievements, and titles.

⚠️ Warning: Once deleted, data cannot be recovered. We recommend exporting your data regularly as backup.

We recommend exporting regularly if you want to keep permanent records.

Game Modes

What is Classic Mode?

Classic Mode is the traditional yes/no decision maker with an animated coin flip. Type any yes/no question, click "Get My Answer", and receive a YES or NO with a personalized explanation.

Earn 10 XP and 5 stardust per decision. Perfect for quick daily decisions.

How does the Picker Wheel work?

The Picker Wheel is a roulette-style decision maker. Add 2-12 options (like restaurant choices), then spin the wheel. It uses realistic physics to spin and randomly select a winner.

Perfect for group decisions, breaking ties, and team activities. Track your spin history!

What is Gut Check mode?

Gut Check (Quick Fire mode) tests your instincts with rapid-fire decisions. Create custom question sets (3-10 questions), set a timer (3-10 seconds per question), then answer YES, NO, or SKIP before time runs out.

Earn 5 XP per answered question. Great for brainstorming and testing gut reactions!

Can I create custom question sets?

Yes! In Gut Check mode, you can create, save, edit, and delete custom question sets. Each set can have 3-10 questions with configurable timers.

Question sets are stored in your browser and can be reused anytime. Perfect for recurring brainstorming sessions!

Progression System

How do I earn XP and level up?

Earn XP by making decisions:

  • Classic Mode: 10 XP per decision
  • Gut Check: 5 XP per answered question (skipped = 0 XP)
  • Achievements: 25-100 XP depending on rarity
  • Daily Quests: Variable XP rewards

Your level is calculated as: Level = √(XP / 100) + 1. Higher levels unlock achievements!

What is stardust?

Stardust is a tracking metric that shows your overall progress. You earn stardust from decisions (5 each), achievements (10-250), daily quests, and level-ups (level × 10).

Note: Stardust is not a currency - it's a measure of your dedication and achievements!

How do daily streaks work?

Build a streak by making at least one decision every day. Your streak increments when you make a decision on a new calendar day. Miss a day and your streak resets to 1.

Your longest streak is tracked separately. Unlock streak-based achievements at 7, 30, and 100+ days!

What is my personality type?

Your personality is calculated based on your YES/NO ratio across all decisions:

  • Optimistic Adventurer - 80%+ YES
  • Positive Seeker - 60-79% YES
  • Balanced Navigator - 40-59% YES
  • Cautious Contemplator - 20-39% YES
  • Wise Protector - Less than 20% YES

Your personality updates with each decision. Watch how it changes over time!

Achievements & Titles

What are achievements and how do I unlock them?

There are 19 achievements across 5 categories:

  • Decisions - Make 1, 10, 50, 100, 500 total decisions
  • Streaks - Build 7, 30, 100-day streaks

  • Levels - Reach levels 5, 10, 25, 50
  • Exploration - Try all game modes, unlock all titles

How do titles work?

Titles are cosmetic badges unlocked by earning specific achievements. You can equip one title at a time, and it will display in your header.

Titles have rarity levels (common, rare, epic, legendary) with special visual effects. Legendary titles have a golden glow!

How do I equip a title?

Go to the Achievements page and click the "Titles" tab. You'll see all available titles. Click "Equip" on any unlocked title to display it in your header. Click "Unequip" to remove your current title.

Only unlocked titles can be equipped. Unlock titles by earning their associated achievements!

What are achievement rarities?

Achievements come in four rarity levels:

  • Common - Easy to unlock (10-25 XP, 10-25 stardust)
  • Rare - Requires effort (50 XP, 50 stardust)
  • Epic - Challenging (75 XP, 100 stardust)
  • Legendary - Ultimate goals (100 XP, 250 stardust)
